Instant Help

Instant Help is useful for getting to know Geoida and the purpose of various text boxes, check boxes, buttons and other controls provided in data entry windows and dialog boxes.

When enabled, the Instant Help panel is displayed at the foot of most windows and dialog boxes. When the mouse is moved over an enabled text box, button or other control in an active window, a message is displayed in the Instant Help panel giving a brief description about the item. In many cases this will give more specific details about the current control than is available in the Geoida Help documentation.

The Instant Help option in the Help menu is merely a toggle to turn Instant Help on or off. A tick-mark next to the option in the Help menu indicates that Instant Help is currently enabled - if the option is not ticked, the Instant Help panel is not displayed on windows and dialog boxes. Instant Help can also be controlled with the Show Instant Help on forms checkbox on the 'General' tab in the Definitions menu Preferences option.
